Provident Dental Products was officially established in 2005 but it has a long standing history of porcelain research, development and manufacturing dating back over 45 years. Provident Dental Products is a descendant of the original American Thermocraft Company, a pioneer with the first viable patent covering the bonding of aesthetic porcelain to dental alloys.
In 1988, American Thermocraft was purchased by the Pentron Corp and introduced several market leading technologies under the Pentron banner. Since 2005 our infrastructure has been reinforced to support the growth of our porcelain business through various outlets. The manufacturing facility located in Somerset, New Jersey has been expanded to service multiple markets. Also, significant investments were made in the research and development capabilities by adding equipment and personnel. The development team has been dedicated to its mission to introduce innovative porcelain products and systems.
Paving the way for new developing brands and products is Carl Panzera – Chief Scientific Officer. Prior to joining American Thermocraft in 1988, Carl – a Ceramic Scientist and Engineer – began his long distinguished career at Ceramco. Carl holds 56 patents to his credit and is an acknowledged authority in ceramics as one of the dental industry's most recognized innovators.
Will-Ceram® ULTRA™ is a derivative of the first porcelain system capable of utilizing three techniques (PFM, all-ceramic and metal-reinforced-pressed) with a single overlay powder. Today, Will-Ceram® ULTRA™ represents one of the most versatile porcelain systems available for the dental technician. Technological improvements over the years include materials developed and manufactured for thin veneers and current state-of-the-art Zirconia overlay porcelain and discs and blocks.
Provident Dental Products longstanding commitment to quality and excellence has manifested a re-introduction of the Will-Ceram® Family of porcelains updated and modernized for the 21st Century for the most demanding dental technician. Recently introduced products include Will-Ceram® Z Zr Overlay Porcelain System, Will-Ceram® Z Zirconia Discs and Blocks and Will-Ceram® Press-On for ≥0.3mm Thin Veneers.
